The joy of Eid in Karachi was overshadowed by disappointment as traders lamented the dismal sales figures, with 70% of their goods failing to find buyers.
Atiq Mir, Head of All Karachi Traders Union, revealed that only 20 million people purchased new clothes in Karachi, leaving a significant portion of merchandise unsold.
Mir emphasized that traders were only able to sell goods worth 18 billion rupees, a fraction of their expected sales.
In addition to sluggish sales, concerns over inflation and law and order issues further dampened the spirits of traders during the festive season.
