The Meteorological Department has forecasted moderate rainfall and gusty winds in the city for Sunday.
Previously, the department had predicted moderate to heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms due to the formation of thundercells in the city's outskirts on Saturday. However, no rainfall was reported in any part of the city.
Chief Meteorologist Karachi, Sardar Sarfraz, mentioned that there is a low possibility of unusual rainfall in the city on Sunday. Still, light rain may occur due to the influence of the western system. He added that another western disturbance is expected on April 17 and 18, which may bring rain to rural Sindh, including Karachi. However, the final forecast regarding the intensity of rainfall will be possible in the next 2 to 3 days.
According to the Meteorological Department, most areas of the country are currently experiencing a new series of western winds. Districts in rural Sindh, such as Jamshoro, Dadu, Shaheed Benazirabad, and Qamber Shahdadkot, are also likely to witness thundershowers.
On Saturday, the city experienced partly cloudy weather with a maximum temperature of 32.6 degrees Celsius and a humidity level of 66%. In rural Sindh, Mithi recorded the highest temperature at 39.5 degrees Celsius.
